Curricula
PrattMWP students complete the first two years of their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fine Arts, Communications Design or Art and Design Education at our beautiful Central New York campus before fulfilling their degree requirements at Pratt/Brooklyn. Students are prepared for their careers through instruction in the renowned "Pratt curriculum," the same academic plan and quality instruction offered on the Brooklyn campus.
Fine Arts

Students work in a variety of studio and classroom settings, and have frequent visits to museums, galleries and artists' studios. In their senior year, students are expected to create a consistent body of work that culminates in an exhibition.

Communications
Design

This program leads students to one of three major creative careers: Illustration - the art of picture-making for the purpose of communicating ideas and information; Graphic Design - total information design, where pictures and words are created and designed to convey messages; and Advertising Art Direction - a focused combination of visual and verbal information design that creates an advertising message.

While developing their studio art skills in the renowned Pratt curriculum, students also begin the process of developing as communicators and instructors. Many Art and Design Education students complete work toward certification in teaching fine arts in grades Pre-K through 12.
