Courses
We offer our students the same courses as those taught at Pratt's main campus in Brooklyn. Pratt Munson-Willams-Proctor's highly accomplished faculty members provide students with highly personalized attention, and most classes having typically fewer than 15 students. In this intimate setting, gifted teachers inspire as well as educate. PrattMWP students also have the unusual opportunity to have their work shown in a world-class Museum of Art, located on our Utica campus.
Foundation Art
Home Arrow

Fine Arts
Home Arrow
While working in the classroom and studio settings, students develop artistic skills and creative talents. Among the classes are painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, metalcraft and jewelry.

Communications
Design
Home Arrow
Communications Design courses explore the creative process of expressing ideas and presenting information through images. The courses are designed to assist students as they identify and develop solutions to communications problems.

Art and Design
Education
Home Arrow
Teaching is a creative process. To direct, train and educate artists requires more than a knowledge of art. An effective teacher must communicate visual ideas, facilitate creative growth and engender a desire for learning to prepare artists for professional challenges. Students at PrattMWP prepare for their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a major in Art and Design Education by completing the foundation art courses in their freshman year then developing both their visual art skills and abilities in communicating those visual ideas to others. Students who major in Art and Design Education may then go on to earn a New York State Initial Certification in Teaching Fine Arts in grades Pre-K through 12.

Art History
Home Arrow
The history of Western art is explored in its various forms through classroom instruction and up-close study of original works in our renowned Museum of Art.

Liberal Arts
and
Sciences
Home Arrow
A variety of classes expose students to liberal arts and sciences, as critical thinking and written communications skills are developed.
