Financial Aid

Federal School Code: 002798
TAP Code: 0615

PrattMWP strives to ensure that each student receives the financial aid to which he or she may be entitled. In doing so, approximately 97 percent of our students receive some type of financial assistance. Financial aid is awarded on the basis of financial need and/or merit. All assistance is offered fairly and confidentially. It is important to remember that most financial aid resources are based on the students’ documented financial need and are intended to supplement, not replace, the financial resources of the family. It is one of most important investments of your life and PrattMWP is dedicated to making your education affordable.

Financial Need: Financial need is determined through specific application requirements and complex needs analysis. The student and family are expected to contribute based upon their ability to pay. The family’s contribution is considered in light of income, assets and benefits. The student is expected to pursue aid available from the federal and state governments and other sources. Merit: PrattMWP offers a range of merit awards on the basis of academic and artistic achievement. After acceptance at PrattMWP, the Scholarship Committee will look at your portfolio, GPA and SAT (or ACT) scores to see if you are eligible for one of the following:
$12,500 Trustee’s Scholarship,
$8,500 President’s Scholarship,
$5,000 Dean’s Scholarship.
Aid Package: An aid package might consist of a combination of grants, scholarships, loans and on-campus student employment. Outside awards that a student may receive are taken into consideration when PrattMWP aid is offered. Federal regulations require that the Financial Aid Office be notified of any outside awards a student receives. A reduction in the self-help portion of a student’s aid package may result when notice of an outside award arrives after awarding has taken place. Students will be considered for any source of PrattMWP financial aid for which they qualify once the FAFSA is evaluated and the PrattMWP Financial Aid Application is completed and submitted to the Financial Aid Office. Additional documents as outlined on the application instructions must also be submitted before an aid package will be determined.
